TONS of carrying capacity, when people say these M70's are like Load-Bearing Vests, they ain't kidding! Heavy-duty cotton build is tough to damage and helps keep some heat in but obviously you're gonna want some sort of insulated liner for sub-zero temps; M65 parka liners work great with the Euro-style short sleeves. If you want a longer sleeve, go a size up from your normal size as Europeans like their sleeves and torso length a little on the shorter side.
Mine had minimal fading for a coat made in 1974 which is fantastic! Some loose threads here and there but that doesn't affect the overall quality considering its age.
Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase!
