The vintage Swiss M70 Alpenflage Rucksack is crafted from heavy duty cotton twill and features a unique Alpenflage camouflage pattern. With a 15L total capacity, this rucksack includes one large center pocket, two medium-sized side pockets, two "Mortar" pockets with cinch closure, and low profile shoulder straps and hip belt. Originally designed to attach to the Swiss M70 Field Parka, this rucksack is versatile and durable for any outdoor adventure.
Very well-loved pack. Pretty faded, fabric feels like an old pair of jeans, and with a few pinholes from wear and tear, but that just adds character to surplus. Nothing is missing or broken, metal clasps and hooks are also free of rust and deformation.
Clearly saw service over many decades, no date but the amount of fading and the consideration that Switzerland had been a neutral nation for over 200 years until "recent events" tells me this pack is many decades old, probably from the 60's or 70's. A couple of quick passes with a needle and thread fixes any issues. Either way has loads of character and tells a story of many years of service, with more years of service to come.
